An award-winning week for John Nelson’s Les Troyens

April 11, 2018

John Nelson’s critically-acclaimed recording of Berlioz’ Les Troyens is now officially prize winning too! At a glittering ceremony at King’s Place on April 5, the recording received the BBC Music Magazine Award for Opera. The shortlists are compiled by an expert jury of reviewers and voted on by readers of the magazine, which just goes to show the wide appeal of this wonderful release. But the onward march of Les Troyens did not stop there, as John Nelson and the team triumphed once again on April 9 at the 2018 International Opera Awards. This red carpet ceremony at the London Coliseum is the Oscars of the opera world and Les Troyens took home the statuette for Recording (Complete Opera).
