John Nelson’s Les Troyens wins the Victoires de la Musique award for Recording of the Year
Conductor John Nelson’s multi award-winning recording of Berlioz’s Les Troyens picked up another accolade this week, winning Recording of the Year (2018) at the prestigious Victoires de la Musique awards in Paris.
The awards ceremony, held at La Seine Musicale, is the equivalent of the Grammy Awards in France and was the setting of another triumph for the American conductor and his team.
This highly acclaimed recording has already won numerous international awards, including the BBC Music Magazine Award 2018 (Opera); International Opera Award 2018 (Recording: Complete Opera); two Gramophone Awards (Opera and Recording of the Year, 2018); and the Opus Klassik Award 2018 (Opera Recording: 19th century).
