Julian Rachlin signs to Knight Classical

August 31, 2025

The Award-Winning Viennese Conductor, Violinist, and Violist joins the London-based agency for international career management and global brand & digital strategy.

Knight Classical is delighted to announce the signing of Julian Rachlin — internationally acclaimed conductor, violinist, violist, and artistic director.  This collaboration launches an ambitious, multi-dimensional strategy designed to elevate and unify every aspect of Rachlin’s global career.

Through a fully integrated approach – combining local representation, project development, personal brand strategy, and digital media & marketing – the Knight Classical team will work in close partnership with Rachlin to shape a bold, cohesive presence that captures the full depth of his artistry, leadership, and creative vision.

Spanning nearly four decades, Julian Rachlin’s career is a rare story of artistic evolution – from one of the world’s most celebrated child prodigies to a multidimensional musician at the summit of his profession.  Since debuting at 14 with the Vienna Philharmonic and Riccardo Muti, he has captivated audiences worldwide as a violinist and violist of expressive depth and technical brilliance, whilst also forging a stellar reputation as conductor, artistic director, and creative innovator – currently serving as Music Director of the Jerusalem Symphony (Israel), Chief Conductor of the Kristiansand Symphony (Norway), Artistic Partner of the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz (Germany), and Artistic Director of Austria’s Herbstgold Festival.

As soloist, Rachlin appears with leading orchestras (from the Royal Concertgebouw to the Chicago Symphony) and conductors (including Daniele Gatti, Klaus Mäkelä, Zubin Mehta, and Gianandrea Noseda) – and as conductor he works with the BBC Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and Filarmonica della Scala, amongst others.  Cross-disciplinary collaborators range from classical superstars (Janine Jansen, Evgeny Kissin, and Sir András Schiff) to theatrical icons (John Malkovich, Gérard Depardieu, and Sir Roger Moore), and he has been entrusted with world premieres of works by Auerbach, Penderecki, and Vangelis, amongst others.

This new partnership marks the next chapter of Rachlin’s dynamic international career: amplifying an already formidable global standing, deepening artistic collaborations with major orchestras and institutions, and building a distinctive digital presence that reflects the full breadth of his expansive creative identity.  Alongside strategic project development, international career planning, and the creation of innovative media content, Knight Classical will deliver comprehensive marketing support for the forthcoming release of a landmark new recording project.

Julian Rachlin:

“Marking my 50th year, I feel a renewed sense of focus and energy for the music I want to make and the stories I still want to tell.  Beginning this new chapter with Alexandra Knight and Knight Classical feels like the right step at the right time.  Her deep understanding of the classical world, paired with a modern, creative approach to supporting an artist’s career, is exactly what I was looking for.   I’m excited for what lies ahead, and to shape the next part of my journey with a team that truly shares my vision”.

Alexandra Knight (Founder & CEO, Knight Classical):

“Julian’s energy, artistry, and curiosity are simply magnetic.  At 50, with the wisdom of having performed at the highest level for nearly four decades, alongside some of the greatest musicians in living memory, he remains deeply committed to honing his craft and pushing artistic boundaries.  He is an artist in constant evolution – one who has stayed at the forefront of our artform through an extended period of disruptive change.  This is exactly the kind of musician to whom I am drawn: fearless in the face of challenge, unwavering in dedication to artistic integrity, and capable of affecting and uniting audiences through the ironclad delivery of work of the very highest calibre.  It is an honour to represent Julian, and the team and I look forward to working closely and creatively together on this next chapter of his musical life.”
