John Nelson adds two more astonishingly original works to his enormously successful Warner Classics/Erato discography: the ‘dramatic symphony’ Roméo et Juliette and the ‘lyric scene’ La Mort de Cléopâtre, as a continuation of his commitment to recording the major works of Hector Berlioz. He is joined by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, Joyce DiDonato, Cyrille Dubois, Christopher Maltman, and the choruses of the Gulbenkian Foundation and Opéra du Rhin.
