Hugh Wolff starts season as the new Music Director of the Belgian National Orchestra

September 15, 2017

Following the announcement of Hugh Wolff’s appointment as the new Music Director of the Belgian National Orchestra, the American conductor will officially take up this exciting position from Andrey Boreyko when he conducts the ONB on 15 & 17 September at Bozar, Brussels.  The programmes will include the world premiere of Benoît Mernier’s Organ Concerto (commissioned by Bozar for the inauguration of the new Bozar organ, performed by Parisian organist Olivier Latry), Adams’ Dr Atomic, Ravel’s Piano Concerto for the Left Hand (performed by Pierre-Laurent Aimard) and Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony.

The concerts this week mark the beginning of a three-year special relationship with the Belgian National Orchestra including symphonic and chamber orchestra cycles, international touring, recording projects as well as joint artistic events/initiatives involving the orchestra of Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie.
