  • Professional photography or videography

  • Copywriting (beyond light editorial polish of supplied text)
  • Multiple language versions or translation
  • E-commerce, ticket sales, or merchandise shop
  • Membership areas, paid content, or fan clubs
  • Mailing list automation beyond a basic signup form (a standard Mailchimp embed is fine; bespoke automation is not)
  • Booking systems, complex calendar integrations, or third-party CRM hookups
  • Pages beyond the 5 stated (available as a paid add-on)
  • Managed hosting and domain registration (available as a paid add-on)
  • Premium stock photography or video
  • Maintenance, updates, or content changes after launch (available via a paid management package)
  • Refunds, cash alternative, or substitution
  • Transfer of the prize to a third party

How to Enter

To enter, entrants must complete the entry form on The Violin Channel’s competition page

Winner Obligations

The winner must:

  • Supply all content (bio, photographs, audio/video links, performance dates, repertoire, etc.) within 30 days of accepting the prize
  • Respond to design feedback requests within 7 days during the build phase
  • Engage with reasonable diligence throughout the build process

If the winner becomes unresponsive for 60 consecutive days during the build, Knight Classical reserves the right to declare the prize forfeit.

The completed website will be delivered within 8 weeks of Knight Classical receiving all required content from the winner.

Domain Name

While in development, the site will be built on a temporary domain name. Once ready to launch, the winner will be offered a choice of two options for ongoing arrangements:

  1. Provide a domain name they already own. For this they will be required to provide access to DNS settings on their domain hosting company’s website.
  2. Cover the cost of one purchased and managed by Knight Classical, Rate quoted at the time.

Hosting and Management

Once ready to launch, the winner will be offered a choice of two options for ongoing arrangements:

  1. Continue with a Knight Classical paid management package — a monthly subscription covering hosting, domain renewal, security updates, and minor content edits. Rate quoted at the time; expected range GBP c.£60/month.
  2. Continue with a Knight Classical paid annual hosting only package — a yearly subscription covering hosting only expected range GBP c.£200/year.
  3. Site handover for self-hosting — Knight Classical will provide a final export of the site files together with a written summary of which functionality transfers and which does not. The winner becomes solely responsible for hosting, domain renewal, and all ongoing maintenance. Any Knight Classical-licensed components (premium themes, paid plugins, etc.) do not transfer with the export.

Use of Likeness and Case Study Rights

By accepting the prize, the winner grants Knight Classical the right to use the winner’s name, likeness, and the finished website as a case study in Knight Classical’s marketing materials, portfolio, and on its website in perpetuity. A “Website by Knight Classical” footer credit is required to be publicly displayed on the website.
