Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra

March 9, 2015

Returning to Europe after a gap of 12 years, the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra Tokyo and its Music Director Sylvain Cambreling is making a welcome return visit. The first concert of the tour, including Bartok’s Viola Concerto with Nils Mönkemeyer and Dvorak’s 9th (New World) Symphony, was played at the iconic Philharmonie Hall in Berlin to a rapturous reception. Japanese music was represented by Takemitsu’s ethereal A Flock Descends into the Pentagonal Garden.
